Straight from the ass’s mouth: Corporate “journalism” continues to tank with no bottom in sight

Our good friends at the Pew Center for Journalism and Media (Numbers, facts and trends shaping your world, they claim) paint a distressing picture of corporate media. Distressing, at least, if you work in corporate media. Actually, Messrs. Pew Center, it’s not our world you are shaping. Rather it is the reality you are trying to shape. And your reality came crashing down around the same time the internet became commercially widespread and allowed billions of people to fact-check your claims in a matter of seconds.

2016-09-16-05_16_19-newspapers_-fact-sheet-_-pew-research-center2016-09-16-05_18_18-newspapers_-fact-sheet-_-pew-research-center2016-09-16-05_19_16-newspapers_-fact-sheet-_-pew-research-center2016-09-16-05_20_11-newspapers_-fact-sheet-_-pew-research-center

According to Pew, corporate newspaper circulation saw single-digit crops in circulation continue throughout 2015 while advertising revenue plummeted. One-quarter of ad revenue now comes from “digital advertising” (i.e. those pop-up ads to take over your cell phone for 30 seconds, or the forced video ads that slow down websites like CBC, CNN, the Washington Post, etc until they are absolutely useless crap). And those revenues are down a modest two per cent. Over the past two decades, over 20,000 jobs have disappeared in the newspaper industry.

shockwave

Pew’s numbers do not differentiate between paid circulation (i.e. people actually paying for a newspaper) and newspapers being distributed for free in larger metropolitan areas (mainly universities and public transport stations).

Paywalls – once the great saviour of corporate media – are crumbling down. It’s one thing for us to know we are being lied to and being had. It’s quite another thing altogether to actually pay for that privilege.

People recall how corporate media (all media, not just print) lied about the babies and incubators hoax babies and incubators hoax which got us into the Gulf War of 1990. We certainly remember weapons of mass destruction and Saddam’s nukular bombs. In a 2006 New York Times / CBS News poll conducted by  Angus-Reid that has since been scrubbed from the internet, a whopping 16 per cent of Americans believed the “official story” of 9/11. Fifty-three per cent said government was  “hiding something” while 28 per cent said “mostly lying.”

2016-09-16-05_49_17-scientific-poll_-84-say-9_11-is-a-cover-up
In a 2006 Angus-Reid poll for CBS News and the New York Times, over one-half of respondents reported their conviction that the U.S. government was complicit on September 11, 2001.

Up until the past two decades, suggestions that the murder of John F. Kennedy was anything other than what was reported were dismissed, ridiculed and even condemned. Even  after the public release of the Zapruder film proved Dan Rather to be a liar. Now, only a fool believes the “magic bullet” theory.

The stuff that doesn’t make sense, the contradictions, the propaganda and outright lies have caught up to Corporate Media and they don’t have a clue what to do about it. Nobody owns newspapers to make money. Corporations and billionaires own newspapers to try and shape public opinion to suit their own needs (see Jeff Bezos, Sheldon Adelson and Warren Buffet). Don’t forget George Soros hiding in the background.  Watching politicians and their corporate media allies squirm when questioned about how the “Earth can be warming” (as if that is a bad thing) even after record cold winter weather is like watching a Sunday school teacher try to explain away how the Earth is 5,000 years old when children know dinosaurs lived at least 150-million years ago.

evil_jew_Soros
jewish financier and World War II Nazi collaborator George Soros

To this day, even with the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Big Media continues to push the global warming hoax. It shamelessly covers up israeli war crimes in the middle east and around the world. And those israeli crimes it can’t cover up, it justifies and enables. The corporate media has spent the past year-and-a-half ridiculing and dismissing Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy. First in the Republican primaries, and now as the Republican candidate. Corporate Media assured it’s readers Trump’s campaign was a joke and a distraction. He was never supposed to get as far as he has now.

At the same time, big media has been the protector of Hillary Clinton.

hillary-clinton-fawning-media
Assembled corporate media on Hillary’s press plane resemble 14-year-old girls at a Justin Beaver concert.

Corporate Media tried to stamp out any suggestion that there was criminality with regards to Mrs. Clinton’s private e-mail server. They continue to run interference as the next logical question emerges: Was Hillary using the Clinton Foundation as a pay-for-play front for the State Department? And even worse, was her inexcusably lax security on her home servers the means for conducting an espionage operation?

Corporate Media’s inexcusable conduct continues to this day regarding any suggestion that Mrs. Clinton might be ill. Even as she was carried limp by secret service agents into her van, Corporate Media assured their readers and viewers everything was just fine. Not unlike their Soviet Bremya or Pravda counterparts from three decades ago.

As long as readers’ and viewers’ legitimate questions about the world around us continues to be dismissed as “conspiracy theories” Corporate Media will continue circling down the toilet until the inevitable. As long as Corporate Media continues to respond to our questions and our challenges with insults, nothing will change.

On the other hand, if Corporate Media were to apologize, own up to or at the very least express regret for for its past conduct and start telling us the truth and asking real questions on our behalf, we would gladly pay for those paywalls, newspapers would sell so many papers there would be a shortage of trees, and advertising rate cards on the evening network newscasts would be competitive with the Super Bowl. There would be a waiting list for would-be advertisers on those newspaper websites. Assuming their technical garbage was corrected, of course.

Unfortunately, big media shows no signs of apologizing for the millions of people it has gotten killed since The Gulf of Tonkin, Babies and Incubators and Saddam’s Nukular Bombs. It is not about to expose the global warming hoax any time soon. Hillary could have a state funeral in the District of Criminals and Corporate Media would still tell us she’s just fine. The BBC has so far refused to tell us how they knew World Trade Center Building Seven had collapsed, half-an-hour before it did indeed collapse, while the building stood erect and intact live outside the window of Jane Standley’s make-shift studio.

On September 10, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld announced the Pentagon had, ahem, misplaced over $2-trillion dollars. Corporate Media never said another word (save for their pet “fact-checking” sites like Snopes. Media Matters and other George Soros fronts debunking the whole thing).

Why did all those “mass-shootings” take place in “gun-free zones?” Was Sandy Hook a real, operating school? Why do all those same people show up at different events (i.e. Mason Wells)? Is there something to the “crisis actors?” Where is the surveillance video from The Pulse? Why did NORAD stand down on 9/11? Why was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab walked around security at Schiphol Airport (one of the most secure in the world)?  What happened to Libya’s 99-tons of gold after its glorious “liberation?” Why was John McCain in Syria and why did he meet with Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi? And is Mr. al-Baghdadi really Simon Eliot? And how has al-Baghdadi managed to come back to life so many times? What is Rita Katz’s role in the “beheading movies” she “discovers” on “Muslim websites?” What role does the federal reserve play in propping up the stock market every afternoon? Where does that “money” come from? Where is the gold? How much does israel (including its government, its agents and its citizens worldwide) influence our public institutions including our government, universities and, yes, media?

These are a few very basic questions real people have. An until Corporate Media starts addressing those questions on our behalf, rather than belittling, insulting and marginalizing us, its decline and irrelevance will continue.

pinochio

After all, Jeff, Sheldon, Warren and the rest of the billionaires only have so much money to go around. It’s got to run out some time. Even George Soros will not allow himself and his progeny to be impoverished to keep funding these public relations scams.

liar-liar

Now be careful, Corporate Media. Be very, very careful. Because we are at the point where more people than you feel comfortable admitting are starting to go all the way back to the 1930s and 1940s and ask questions about the various historical narratives back then, too.

(I can’t believe I’m saying this) The RCMP gets it right: A cop who crosses the line is no longer an “officer”

Recently, a Vancouver-area citizens group known as “Creep Catchers,” whose aim is to snare child predators, reeled in a Royal Canadian Mounted Police employee. The RCMP arrested the worker, though they won’t tell us his name. Curiously, the Vancouver Sun told us what his name is not, however. The police worker’s name is not Constable Dan Johnson.

In a press conference held on September 9, Surrey RCMP acting commanding officer Brenda Butterworth-Carr said,”Last night as the investigation progressed, the suspected officer was arrested and taken into custody where he remains today…If these allegations are substantiated, we will be taking immediate steps to separate ourselves from this individual.”

“These allegations are egregious and not in keeping with what we expect from our employees.”

Damn straight, Mrs. Butterworth. He’s not an “officer” any longer. He’s an employee of a police department. For now. Unfortunately, even as Mrs. Butterworth switched over to the use of “individual” and “employee” after acknowledging the “officer’s” arrest, Corporate Media continued referring to the anonymous federal civil servant as an “officer.”

While stating the fed was suspended, media reports failed to clarify whether that was with or without pay. This being Canada, it is probably fair to say the pervert-in-red is on paid vacation. Canadian police workers who go rogue – and get caught – tend to draw out their vacation for years.  It took four years to fire Monty Robinson, the fed who ordered the murder of stapler-wielding Robert Dziekansky at the Vancouver Aiport. And Robinson was only fired  after mowing down Orion Hutchinson in a drunken stupor. The local police declined to charge Robinson with drunk driving. Delta Police threw the public a bone and charged him with obstructing justice. Robinson was fined C$1,000 and ordered to write Mr. Hutchinson’s survivors a letter saying he was sorry (again, this is Canada we’re talking about).

Vancouver Sun, July 22, 2012. RCMP Police Officer of the Year Monty Robinson was fined C$1,000 for mowing down Orion Hutchinson with his Jeep in a drunken stupor. He was also sentenced to write an essay about how bad he feels.

In a syrupy soliloquy that had the press conference attendees blowing their noses with pancakes, Mrs. Butteworth scorned Creep Catchers for their “vigilantism” and for naming the wrong police department employee (which, to reiterate, is not Dan Johnson). Mrs. Butterworth laid it on thick as she spoke of the stress caused to Dan and his family.

Mrs. Butterworth is absolutely right. Can’t go around naming the wrong people. That could cause them undue stress and make them feel bad.

With regard to the charge of “vigilantism,” it’s simple. If you want something done right, you do it yourself. The Mounties were probably too busy making criminals out of people (see John Nuttall / Amanda Korody) who were too stupid to be criminals, so somebody had to step in and fill the void left by competent law enforcement. Enter, Creep Catchers.

On a sweeter note, LettersToTheBeast wishes Missus Butterworth all the best in her new position as the de-facto spokesthingy for the RCMP in metropolitan Vancouver. We certainly hope she has better career success than former spokesman Tim Shields…

…And we certainly wish her better than Pierre Lemaitre, who was spokesman for the RCMP after the Dziekanski murder. Pierre lied about the circumstances surrounding Robert Dziekansi death. He didn’t know it at the time. And when he found out, he was mad. He demanded his superiors correct the information. They refused.

Pierre Lemaitre was suicided on July 29, 2013. He was hanged in his Abbotsford home. He was 55 years old.

Pierre LeMaitre was a good cop. Watch your back, Mrs. Butterworth. The RCMP doesn’t tolerate good cops. Of course, you’ve been there long enough to know that, haven’t you?

LettersToTheBeast reminds our regular readers: Paul Gross, Leslie Nielsen and Gordon Pinsent were never actually, really, Mounties.

Shocking news:Canadian liberal darling Wendy Cukier is a bi….g meanie.

LettersToTheBeast has learned some sad, sad news about the queen of Canada’s loony left, Wendy “Kook” Cukier (okay, okay, she pronounces it “sook-yay”),

Cukier made her career by being in the same building, the ecole-polytechnique (The Polytechnical School) in Montreal where Marc Lepine went on a shooting rampage, wounding 28 and killing 14. Before killing himself, Lepine, 25, said he was hunting feminists. Sadly, this event happened in a) Canada and b)a school. Thus nobody was carrying and Lepine was able to carry out his killing spree unimpeded. And since that time, Cukier has made it her mission that no Canadian – woman or man – will ever have the right to self-defense recognized.

DefenseFreeZone Gun Free Zone
PatriotRising.com

The ecole-polytechnique massacre happened on December 6, 1989. In 1989, a series of rapes in suburban Toronto perpetrated by a man known then only as “the Scarborough Rapist” had continued unsolved for two years. They would continue for another year before Paul Bernardo and his wife Karla Homolka would go on to kill three girls, including Homolka’s own sister, Tammy (whom Karla had offered to Paul as a “present”). Bernardo and Homolka were from Cukier’s home town, St. Catharines, Ontario. Cukier and her ilk become irrationally irate at the suggestion that had just one of those women who were raped by Bernardo been carrying, Tammy Homolka, Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French (the girls killed by Bernado and Homolka) would be alive today. To say nothing of the misery endured by all of Bernardo’s rape victims in Toronto.

Woman Carrying Handgun
Had just one of Paul Bernardo’s would-be victims had a gun during his Scarborough Rapist days, Kristen French, Leslie Mahaffy and Tammy Homolka would be alive today. In Marc Lepine’s case, one of those girls at ecole-polytechnique could have put a hole in his head and saved over a dozen lives. That’s not what gun-grabbers like Wendy Cukier want to hear.

Wendy Cukier’s dangerous fallacy that women can’t defend themselves

Since  1989, Canada’s militant feminist movement has prospered with Marc Lepine as its favoured fund-raising tool. Similary, Marc Lepine also managed to put Cukier’s career on the fast track. She became a professor at Toronto’s Ryerson Institute (now Ryerson University), colloquially known  as Rye High. Currently Ryerson’s vice-president of research and innovation, Dr. Wendy Cukier, Phd, had a chance to move on to bigger and better things back at St. Catharines’ Brock Univeristy. Cukier accepted an appointment to be Brock’s president. She accepted the offer in December, 2015 and the position would have started September 1, 2016.

2016-09-03 04_34_03-École Polytechnique massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to Ryerson, Mrs. Cukier has an MA (social and cultural history), MBA (marketing and information systems), PhD (“management science”), two honourary doctorates of law, and a master of science. Apparently, she is the author of 200 papers on research and technological innovation. Yet the woman has never held a real job in her entire life. Her life’s work has been to dine off of Marc Lepine, present herself as a victim of the “Montreal Massacre” even though Lepine never even entered the classroom she was cowering in, and made it her business to make sure no Canadian woman is ever able to defend herself. And for that life experience, students go into debt tens of thousands of dollars and their parents sacrifice everything.

Curiously, Ryerson’s bio of Cukier makes no mention of exactly what degree she ended up getting from ecole-polytechnique. She did go to an engineering school, so one would have thought she at least started out in life wanting to do something useful for society.

Regrettably, news of Cukier’s abrasive personality made its way down to St. Catharines from Toronto. The Toronto Globe and Mail reports that Cukier’s department “was a ‘toxic work environment’ where lower-level employees were fearful for their jobs.” Subordinates complained of having to work overtime and weekend without pay.

One complainant e-mailed, “When you complete … tasks and assignments, you are critiqued and your work is often torn apart…No one should ever have to experience open ridicule in front of colleagues, fear and intimidation, and trickle down bullying. Far too many employees over the years have complained to HR and the union, yet little has been done to assist employees in this department…No one should ever have to experience open ridicule in front of colleagues, fear and intimidation, and trickle down bullying. Far too many employees over the years have complained to HR and the union, yet little has been done to assist employees in this department.”

While not wishing to defend Canada’s gun-grabber extraordinaire, LettersToTheBeast would respectfully welcome this anonymous complainant to the real world.

Ryerson 3Ryerson 4 Wendy Cukier

The Globe and Mail sought comment from Ryerson and Cukier but was apparently unsuccessful. An uncharacteristic stance from a woman who has been running towards every microphone and camera in sight for the past 25 years.

According to another, more (typically) fawning Globe and Mail article from October 19, 2010:

Describing her outlook on Canadian technological innovation as “glass half-full, glass half-empty”, Prof. Cukier fears that this country may have lost some of its edge. Like gun control or gender equality, she says, innovation is a continuous process that calls for integrated strategies. “If you’re not continually moving forward, you’re going to be surpassed by other nations which are.”

The reason other countries (particularly China, Japan, South Korea and now even India) are cleaning our clocks is they are not wasting their students’ time and money dealing with nonsense like “diversity,” bathrooms for confused folk, safe spaces and the like. Their universities don’t put up with that crap. In fact, even their elementary schools focus on educating their pupils for the real world. If an elementary school headmaster – to say nothing of a dean of students 0 dared distract his students with crap like gender-neutral bathrooms, same sex relationships and “safe spaces,” one can be assured the parents would break his legs with their baseball bats (these are gun-free countries, after all).

Nobody said Cukier is an idiot and there is some good news. Wendy must have been taking notes when Steven Salaita‘s job offer as a professor at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was withdrawn after Salaita had resigned his position of Virginia Tech and after it had come to light that he had said some mean things about our lords and masters in tel aviv, thus leaving Mr. Salaita unemployed. Wendy is currently on sabbatical from Rye High and will be returning in September, 2017 as a “faculty member” in the Ted Rogers School of Business.

Ryerson 2

It is unclear how Mrs.Cukier is managing to meet her obligations for the next year. Rumours that Cukier would be heading up Ryerson’s Safe Space program upon her return were unsubstantiated.
